Loving the weekend

Hello my faithful followers. It's me again. Well of course it's me, who else would it be? Even though Mini can get on the computer her typing skills are not all they are cracked up to be. Anyway enough with the rambling chit chat let's get this weekend started. It started out yesterday after I subed at the high school. I'd like to think I'm getting better but I need to make myself strong and not try to be the nice guy. That and I need the kids to take me seriously.
Right after work my little family did something that we've been wanting to do....We paid off our car. Yep, that's right I no longer have a car payment. So now our car belongs to us. After that we came home and ordered pizza. (It may be dull, but it was how we celebrated.)
Saturday we were woke up by mini at an ungodly hour. Took the parents out to breakfast then went and got my new phone. Man I love my hubby.
We also went dress shopping for the mini since she her and hubby have a dance next weekend. It's a cute dress, red and gold. We were on our way to Target to get some more stuff when dad called and said we had water running. So we changed directions and rushed home. Apparently one of the pipes sprung a leak. We got it fixed went to Target then it was off to home to eat and find out that the fixed leak didn't fix so now we are out of water for the night. Oh well, at least Mini got her shower. She's excited because she got new bath room stuff. Well that's all that's gone on for now. I'm sure I've got more but again that's all.

Thursday

Good evening faithful followers. As I sit here typing at 9pm I am reminded that I am truly tired. Oh well let's get to it. Today I subbed once again at the high school. I have to say so far I enjoy doing this. But I believe I need to point out that I do not speak spanish and I feel that I am behind in this. Especially since I am subbing for a ESL class. What's funny is that all the students will ask if I speak spanish. I have to tell em nope but I know the dirty words so I will know if you are cussing me.
The problem is that I am so totally bluffing. I mean I used to know the dirty words but I haven't spoken them in so long I could tell you what they were. My classes have been small compared to others but at least the kids have been ok. So it gives me hope. Mini is not real happy with my working at the school, but that's because I haven't worked at her school. Now to watch some tv, read a book and work on the book. Goodnight peeps

What's In Store

Well my fellow readers it's that time again. It's time to time to poke fun and laugh at those overly tanned folks on the shore. Really there is something very strange about being an almost umpa lumpa orange. And as I think of that I also think, how can anyone watch their type stupid. Yep I said it.
I found that book that Snooki wrete, (Yes I said wrete) I mean damn can she be a little more imaginative? Brain Cells folks, in today's world we need to keep our brain cells. I will be working at the high school once again for the next two days. Yes my nerves are still a little iffy but I am looking forward to it. All I have to do is breath through it. I hope it works. In the meantime I've decided I may just be a professional sub. Why commit to just one group of minds when I can help taint the minds of many....(j/k)
So that was my small rant for today. But again I must say, parents please keep your children educated on the things they need to know. Don't just asume they know because, well let's face it, they are kids. In this day and age we need to make sure that we continue to talk to our kids and make them understand that their are consqences to the choices they make. We also need to stay open to all discusion of sex and what not. With all the crap they are seeing on tv they need to understand that not everything is as fun or glamrous. I say let's take the reality out of the tv for a bit.

The End of the Week

This has to bee my favorite time of day. It's the time of day when the sun goes down and everything starts to get calm around my house. It's also the time when it signals that another week has ended. So with that in mind let's get to it.
Today my alarm didn't go off when it was suspose to. My grandfather called and woke me up, Thank god. So mini was running a bit behind. After dropping off the mini it was time to head into the city for my moms surgery. I wanted to be there with my dad. She did good by the way. I picked up the mini then headed home to get her packed for her weekend with the in-laws. She got to see her G before she left and she was excited to see her grandma. Everyday when I pick up the mini I always ask "What did you learn to day."
Most days she responds with "I don't remember" but today she informed me that she knew what a sternum was and where it was located. She then informed her daddy over the phone that she was making a prototype of a cupcake. She's too smart most days.
After everything that has happened this week I have to say it was good. I am looking forward to this year. Even though it started off crappy I know it will get better. Happy Friday People

Second Day of Sub

I'm crazy...
It's clear to me now why animals eat their young. Today was my 2nd day of subing and I was working with 6th graders. Here's a question if they are in 6th grade why are they still acting like 1st graders? So here's what went down.
I got to the school around lunch time, I met the teacher. She was really sweet, then I had sometime while the kids were at lunch to go over what they would be working on. (Folks I read over the notes five times) The kids come in and see there is a sub and suddenly, you could see it on their faces, it was time to play. I got them to read and do the work they were suspose to then it was time for the next class to begin. The first class, by the way I was doing science, was pretty loud. It was hard to get them to unwind. But they were nice. The second class was a little more mouthy. Fine, I could handle that. I did my best I even tried to teach them a little bit about what they were reading about. One kid decided he was the clown but even him I got to do his work. Then it was time for the third class.
The girls half was fine, they did their work and gossiped. It was the boys that were a little more... Well they were not that great. One boy kept calling me homeskillet (I had to ignore it.) He finally said "I'm not amusing you"
"I'm sorry I didn't hear a joke." And went on. I checked the time and got up to see if the other classes were out yet. Then this kid who had been mouthing the whole time decided to say "So you going to eat me?" Are you kidding me??? I called him on it out in the hall and informed him that was rude. But really people. he then said "I wasn't calling you fat." Ok look, I'm not dumb, maybe a little slow at times but I am not dumb and this kid I know just insulted me twice. Why are parents allowing their children to talk like this. I listened to them for three class periods and besides the fact that cuss words were missing they still were crude. It amazed one of them that I could hear him mumbling under his breath.
So all in all the second day was ok, I hope I did ok since I actually had kids today but I'm not sure I can deal with some of those brats again.

Working as a Sub

Well the day finally came. I woke up this morning got dressed, put make-up on and then woke the cute little mini. I was nervous. I hadn't done this kind of thing before and it was a new experience. I of course expected the worst and so I got there early. I signed in got the directions to my room and my class list.

Then I found out that the teacher had the first two periods off. Ok so I've got some time on my hand. At least I brought a book. The office called and told me that a coach was going to be late to his first class and asked if I would mind watching the kids. Deep breath. So I went up the steps to the class room and there they were. The teenagers, standing in the hall. The room was locked so they couldn't get in. When I asked one of the kids to go get the key he looked at me and said "I'm not in this class" deep breath. Thankfully one of the neighboring teachers had one that would unlock the door. When all the kids went in a boy came down the hall holding the key from the office. "How'd you get in?" he asked. "I'm just that good."

The kids went to the classroom and I realized that I knew one of them. Now mind you I am trying to calm and not show fear. They can smell it. After the final bell rang they just sat there talking and looking at me. Thats when they finally asked the question. "Are you the sub?"

"Nope, your teacher is just running late." and right about the time the door opened and in walked the teacher. So it was back down to may room. By the way the lights on these rooms are motion sentive. And when you are not moving they go off. This is important.

Well now I'm back in the room and am waiting on something to happen. I brought a book and thank god. When the bell finally rang for the end of 2nd period I got butterflies all over agian. It was time for my class to come in. The first guy walked in and took a seat, well actually he kind of just slumped in to a chair. The next guy walked, he could be charming i could tell. Then the final bell rang and it had begun. Two kids. Then I began to take role and found out that I had the wrong class sheet.

Then I find out that there is normally three kids. I called one of the guys by a different name and then a coach called and got the charming one out of class. So now I have just the one. I sent him down to get the right class roster again calling him the wrong name and when comes back I am trying to get him to begin his assignment. It is at this point that he decided to tell me he was the teachers aide.

Oh did I mention the lights were motion scensored? Fourteen times the lights went out on me. Ok enough laughing. Now I am sitting here retelling all of you and all I can say is, it was a pretty good day. Well tomorrow is another day.

As I sit here getting ready to work I am thinking about how I really want to make some changes. I want so much for myself and for my little family but I'm not sure at what point to begin. What do you throw out and what do you keep?

Mini had a great check up yesterday. She has been released from the dr so she will get to start particpating in school again. She is totally looking forward to that. I'm so proud of my little mini but sometime she makes a mommy go insane. For some reason she had decided to ask if she can say just one bad word. It's only when she gets mad. The other thing is that she doen't want to pick up her room. So for the last two days she has not been able to watch tv or play on the wii. (That really sucks) I think I was punishing us more than her. So there she was with her daddy picking up her rooms. (Yes, rooms) and there I was cleaning in a different part of the house.

As I clean I do other things so I got on FB and took a look at was going on today. 4 of my friends have announce they are pregnant. I'm happy for them as well as a little bummed. I would like to give mini a little bro or sis but right now it's just not going to happen.

I start on a new project on tuesday. I am going to be a sub. I'm going to try my hand at dealing with all the little kids. There is a pool going around that says I'll be in tears by then end of the day. Or that I'll have some kid in tears. I don't think I am that bad really. Well not it's time to work. Woohoo. Later days peeps. I leave you with a small look at Mini's room. The one at the top of of her Bulldog Wall, It doen't have everything new and the second one is of her sleeping area before the bed was put in.

Well hello there my faithful followers. I know it's been about a week since I last checked in. Mini had her surgery and she has done awesome. She get's to go back to school tomorrow. So long as the school is open. See it has snowed here and they say it may just stick. Now on to my absense. I have been sick. It's not often I get so sick I can't even turn on a computer or mess with a phone but that is what happened.
See after not feeling well at Christmas I let it go thinking it was just a cold or sinus. Well I was right. After mini's surgery my body decided to yell at me for a bit and it put me in bed. Litterally. I did ok that weekend. Hubby took good care of the both of us then I did ok on Monday even though I had to go to the doctor. A bad sinus infection is what I had. He gave me medicine and sent me home.
Unfortunately my meds weren't ready until tuesday when Roo picked them up and by wed. I thought I was dying. My face felt like it had met the business end of a bat. No, I'm not being beaten but damn, I sure did feel like. So Roo stayed home with me and Mini on Thurs to take care of us and I made another call into the dr. Aparently this sinus infection didn't want to just lie down and slowly die.
Another day of sleep, Roo took Mini to the dr and she got the ok for school, and by saturday I was feeling somewhat myself. So here we are Sunday night and I am breathing better and feel a little better. But it looks like another fun day as the weather is snowing. Abby, the pup, got to go outside and experience snow for the first time. It was awesome. Ok well that is what's been keeping me from the land of the living. More to follow

Happy New Year

Hello my faithful few. I just wanted to take a minute and wish everyone Happy New Years. My plan was to do a small year end review but since I never got back on last night I didn't get a chance to do that so here it is.
We started 2010 off with mini still in MOD, She got a puppy, Abby in Febuary, turned 5 in April, went to San Antonio for her very first family vacation then started kindergarden in August. She got be a cheer leader and her team won 2nd place at competion. During this time she also got to go the zoo with her class as her first field trip. She even got to ride in her 2nd parade. A few more first for her was that she found a dentist that she liked and had her first tooth pulled with her first cavity. Also during 2010 she had strep throat 6 times and ended the year with loosing her 1st tooth and having her tonsils taken out.
Now Mini is starting 2011 off with the recovery process, which on the second day is going really good. She is doing much better today even though her energy is not at the peak of what it normally is and she has slept a little more today. But other than that she is doing pretty good. She will miss at least the first week of school and will not be able to start gymnastics this week like she wanted to but I think it's understandable.
I started 2010 under stress so I took a bit of a hiatess in April in from one job as I started a new job so that i could work from home. I also published my first book under Nicole Lee and my second mini book. Then I got writers block. (I'm told it happens) I turned 28 wich by the way I'm pretty good with. We moved in to a larger home and I finished the year with a bad cold. I also started 2011 with the same cold and as I write I can feel my head pounding. It's been a fun and stressful year and I am looking forward to what 2011 will bring. Happy New Years peeps
