Home Sweet Home

They say there is "no place like home" I have to say that as I sit here I can totally agree. My home is a place that I feel most comfortable. So since I am in my pj's I guess I can get started with what is new. First off I guess I need to tell you that since I've found out I was expecting I have gained 20 pounds. The doctor didn't give me boundries, at least this is what I am going to stick to as I completley blame him for my onset of weight. (I'm nice, aren't I?) Last week I had not one but two doctors appointments. On Wed. I met with my blood doctor to see how the omni-pod was doing. She was impressed with the fact that my sugar has never looked so good and actually made the suggestion that I needed to stay pregnant all the time. (Um, no.) But at least I got a good thumbs up from her so all is well.
Friday I went to the Baby doctor. This is where I feel the need to tell you that I had a long week last week and ended up in bed more then I was really out of it. They checked and heard the heart beat (All clear) and then of course did some blood work. Turns out that I have a U.T.I. and that is the reason my last week was a really sucky week. So with a little medicine they said it should all be good there. I go back in a month for another check up and then the following visit we will find out if our little bundle of joy will be pink or blue.
Mini is still enjoying school though right now she is home sick. Poor little thing she was running fever this morning. Yesterday was my hard day. I woke up at 3am and just couldn't go back to sleep then I subbed yesterday at Mini's school, needless to say I was a really sleepy mommy by the time we got home. So I took a shower ate some food then was shuffled off to bed by Roo. I woke for about two hours and watched a little tv then it was off to sleep once again. I know it will be better and I know we still have alot todo. We are still trying to finish the babies room but it will be just a bit. Everytihng will work out. Thats all we keep telling outselves.
So like I said today I get to snuggle up with the puppy and take care of my sick little baby girl. I see some naps in our future but at least we can do it at the house.

Back to School

This is a picture of Mini on the Friday befor going back to school. We have had an awesome summer and I am going to miss her something aweful, yet at the same time I would have gladly dropped her off for a overnight stay on Sunday night before school. Yes, I guess you could say I was ready. So,Sunday night we got everything together and ready for the next morning. Do you remember the when you were little and the excitement about the first day of school always had you getting up early? No? Well I do and Mini was no exception to this rule. She woke up at 4 am saying she couldn't slee. She woke at 5 thinking it was time to get ready. At 6 I gave up and decided to fix breakfast. So we made Cinnamon rolls. Then it was time to get dress. Last year she let me take pictures of the whole process, this...well not so much but I did talk her into posing with me and for the camera.
I love this little girl so much. Roo and I got to walk her in because of a deal that her and I made the night before. She took a Twizzler then I got to walk her to her class. Hey don't judge, she's still my baby. Once we got there we both surprised at the fact that she actually gave us hugs and kisses. See last year we barely got a nod. I think I got hug but I wouldn't swear to it. I do know that we were dismissed last year and this year she told us she loved us both. So the first day went off with out a hitch.
The second day was a little different. See I hadn't been feeling all that grand and Roo stayed home to let me rest. So I got Mini up, like always, and she proceeded to get dressed. She didn't want eat at the house (which was fine) but she wanted to wear a purple shirt jeans and high heels. Once we discussed that she was not wearing heels for the second day she began to tear up because she just didn't know what shoes to wear. (yes we cried over shoes) She chose some purple shoes to match the purple shirt but they had sand in them. "Baby dump the sand"
"I still know it's there." she whined. "Ok pick new shoes" So she settled on her knew sparkly multi colored tennis shoes. Once tied she began to cry and whine more. The whole shoe thing took 15 min and I was running low on temper. So she goes to brush her teeth. I went to help brush her hair and she didn't want me touching her only daddy knows how to brush her hair. (Look I know I'm a daddy's girl and if I acted like that with my mom I'm glad I don't still have that hair brush attached.) So after that part, I figured we had moved on. "Mini you are not taking all that money to school" She wants to use her money to buy breakfast. "Let me see how much it is." I go to reach for her bag that she is holding and she turns and tells me only daddy can get it. (By this time I swear if I hear "only daddy" one more time I become violent.) So they are walking to the door when she tells me "Oh and no pictures today" Before I can stop my self I mumble "But I'm gonna need something for the milk carton." Now I know to many of you that doesn't seem very funny. But if you know me then you first realize that I would never actually do harm to my child. I may want to, but I never would so quit judging and get over that comment.

Another Piece of the Project.

Happy Sunday my faithful readers. I hope that both of you have had a good weekend thus far. I know I'm happy with it. As you know, Friday, we finished the top of of the "babies room". Saturday we decided to take a little time off from working on the room since it was almost 3 when I got back from getting the planks cut, then we had to go to the store for some food. (I hate this practice and if it wasn't for the fact I do enjoy eating I think I would skip it all together.) Then Mini went to stay the night at NannyPops leaving me and Roo home to relax for a bit. Then of course today came around and it was time to get back to it. So let's get started. The bottom half of the wall is not done in the traditional one piece panel, instead it done with planks. It was done this way because when I purchased the planks online through Lowes.com I was shown a full piece. Notice my epic fail there oh well we decided we would make it work and I'm really glad we did. Now yesterday my dad cut the planks for us so that we could run 'em up on the wall, then he showed me how to use a nail gun. It's not often I get to play with tools. Needless to say I was ready to go. Now here is a tip when

working with wood planks that are tounge and groove, start in the corner and work your way out. Also since wood sometimes has a tendency to chip try each piece out before using nails and glue. Shoot the nails in at an angle, especially if there is not stud to be found, this way it will help bond the plank to the wall with wood.
Here is what I did this morning. I can tell you that it was tiring the nail gun got a little heavy but I think I did a good job so far. We had to stop so that we could fix the plugs. In order to fix any type of electrical make sure the power is completely shut off. We do this by placing a night light in each plug after the breaker has been flipped to make sure there is no live power coming through. I mean it would suck if someone got electricuted.
After all the plugs in the room were changed and fixed it was time to get back to work. So far we have the bigger portion of the room finished. I'll post more pictures when we are completely done with this part of the project. After this we have moulding, trim and a chair rail.

Baby Room Project Update

Happy Friday my Faithful Followers, I hope this week has treated you all well. So with-out further ado let's get started with the babies room progress. As you know we had to tear down some existing paneling in these two pictures it shows one half of the wall with-out paneling. The original plan before getting new was to paint over the existing wall, but after tearing down the old paneling that was there we found that, that idea was so not going to pan out so once again we were Lowe's bound for some more paneling to paint and put up. Now we tore down the original last weekend but due to heat and my blood sugar we didn't get to finish putting stuff up. Well we also had to stop to go and pick up Mini from her grandparents house where she spent the weekend. I can tell you that unlike Rome, this could have been completed in a day again low sugars make for a shaky Tiffany and a bad helper. I did however, get to cut some pieces (only because I grabbed the razor knife and began hacking away before Roo noticed.) I also dropped the camera once while taking pictures causing me to freak out a little and test the camera to make sure it was goin. Roo said I was just taking a break that I really didn't need. I of course did not agree since I wasn't actually doing anything at the time. So here is the proof that I was really and truly in the room at the time of reconstrution.

Yes I know I look bad, I was hot, sweaty and a little hungry if you want the honest truth but anyway, you may find that I have a way of getting a picture of me in most anything we do, even if I have to take it myself. Now back to the remodel. After tearing down it was time to start putting back up, here's a strange fact not all the walls in my house are the same height or even level for that matter. I say this because it makes doing these projects a little more complicated, but at least it keeps us on our toes. The easiest wall to take down wat the wall in the corner. There was no glue on that particular wall allowing for a quick pull and down it came. So it was also the first one we decided to put up. Of course we will finish things out with trim but as you cane see it is already looking cleaner.

Since we started on this corner or nook (however you want to see it.) we decided to keep it going by finishing out this wall. It was about the last piece when I started feeling a little woozy and it was also about 9:45pm so we thought it would be ok to call it. The pieces that you are looking at were all painted earlier in the day. (The one good thing about 110 heat, paint dries in 10-15 min.)

Can you believe we found another large hole under the paneling? Anyway that's for the bottom portion, anyway the wall has came together pretty quickly once Roo realized I was pregnant and not handicap. Which means I can help. Anyway tonight we finished with the last wall which was also the most annoying since it has the window on it, But we got it done and now I am excited to say we will start on the bottom half tomorrow. By the way what seemed like the hardest part really wasn't that hard once you thought outside the box. So now we have one full piece left with some scraps that we can turn into something. Oh well at leat we are one step closer to the finished goal

My Parent Soap Box

Well hello there my faithful readers. Here I am on this nice hot day and I am about to get on my soap box, mainly because I feel that some people need to let things go. I've found over the years that if you don't try to better yourself then you are only living up to those expectations that others have created for you. I'm seriously try not to judge but when you go on a social networking site and start spouting off how everything in your life is everyone else fault and not your own, I begin to get a little annoyed. Let's face it on top of the already raging hormones your idea of life is not quite what I want to hear about. I know if I don't want to hear it or see it then I shouldn't listen or look but when you begin to attack family then I can't help but look. For instance a person has a choice to grow up or to be babied. Now I have to admit that I enjoy being the baby of the family but even I have look at things a different way. I'm no longer my mama's little baby, instead I am an adult (I know questionable at times) I have my own bills I have my own child, hell I even have my dishwasher. But these are things that I have worked for. My parents did me right back giving me the knowledge I needed to get through my life. Is it everything I hoped for, maybe not, but it is everything I will work for. Let's take Mini, she is my heart. I love her like crazy mainly because she can drive me crazy. Right now we are going through some transitioning with her growing up and mommy being pregnant. We will get through this but I have to make sure she understands that though I love her unconditionally I still expect her to act like she has a brain in her head. If she grew up, made some bad choices then blamed me for her choices I don't think I'd appericate it very much. So here is a fact for all you blamers, Fact 1: Parents are human, they make mistakes, they screw up. But they are the ones that will love you the most. Fact 2: Unless your parent is handing you the beer, drug or other self reducing product don't blame them for the choice you made to pick it up. For most of the human world it's called expermenting. Most everyone has done it and those that are strong enough get over it. Fact 3: Parents are suspose to guide you not rule your life. Sure they have that whole "til your 18" thing but after that it's time to sink or swim. You need to get off your ass and start making something of your self. Fact 4: (and this is important) Nobody, and I mean Nobody, is perfect. We all have our hang ups. We feel cheated, slighted, misunderstood, taken forgranted and so on. We all have feelings and we all have to make the best of what is given to us. Sometimes you need to open up your eyes and see things for what they really are. Don't like your folks but you have no job and no place to go well either suck it up or find a better solution. If you so unhappy in the place you currently are then move, change things but know this just because you move locations doesn't mean your issues will go away. Problems follow all of. So when someone says your running away from your problems, I say you're just relocating them.
Now on the flip side to the parent issues kids you need to understand that before there was you, there was them. Your mom and dad were seperate indivuals. They actually have names and shocking though it may seem, they actually had lives. Sometimes as a parent we forget this. Though I am still new to the gig, I've learned that people see me as Mini's mom and Tiffany. Then again sometimes I don't even remember who Tiffany is. That's strange to hear but it's the truth. We as parents put so much effort into raising and protecting others that we sometimes lose ourselves in the process. They are there to help guide you and once they feel like you won't kill yourself or mame others then it's time for them to get to be people once again. They deserve this. Now I'm not saying that whatever issues most people have are false, I'm not attacking those that are truly trying to work through things regarding their parents, I'm just tired of hearing people not be thankful for the things those parents did. I'm a sympathic person and I uderstand frustration, hell I listen to it and contribute on a daily basis, but I also am thankful for everything my parent's have taught me and given me over the years. I could be me with out them, but I don't want to be.
