Week of Nothingness

Crazyness runs in the family...Hello my faithful readers it's me again. I almost feel like a cyberstalker when I start to blog. Well not really, but once again here I sit with another week and man do I really have abosultly nothing to report. Yep thats right, this week has been brought to you by a head cold, a quick trip to the hospital and well nothing.
Ok so maybe I should explain. This past weekend I was bed rest, I over did my walking last Thursday and paid the price. But that was ok. Then Monday I woke up about 2:15 with sharp pains going through my body every 15 to 20 min. So I called the on-call doctor who suggested that I take some tylenol with something sweet for dehydration, then take a warm bath to try and relax the pain and if that didn't work then I should just come on in to the hospital. Well the pain subsided and I was able to get back to sleep. Then it started again every hour on the hour. Seriously who needs a clock when I could pretty much tell you what time it was by the pain I was feeling. So I once again called the doctor who said that I may need to come in to see if it was false labor or real labor. So called Roo and had him come home to take me to hospital where they hooked me up to the machine and little bit didn't like it all that much. She kept trying to kick the monitor off. Funny since her sister would just move away from it. Mini didn't like it either. Anyway after being asked lots of questions from a nice nurse, though I couldn't understand her very well. I was then given an exam and learned that I am 1cm dialated. Which is normal since I have given birth before. The contractions that I was feeling were braxton hicks (very strange name for this) and I could continue to feel them from then on to the rest of the pregnancy or they could just go away.
So after my drama Monday I decided it was a good time to develope this head cold. So not liking that but it does get me out of the weekly sono this week since I just don't want to be pushed on. I'll go next week and make up for it.
It's crazy to think that it's almost Feb and she will be here soon. Mini is starting to act out just a bit, being really tender hearted about things that normally she doesn't mind. She is starting to cry at the drop of a hat which just shows me she is a normal little girl with emotions. Teenage years with this child are going to suck if this is how her hormones go. She has cried more in the past two weeks then I have in the past 7 months. Just saying. So since this really has been a week of nothing new I just wanted to basically say hi to all my readers and to tell you that I'm sure something will come up soon. But until it does I leave you with this thought.......
Well maybe not that thought but I'm sure it would have been great. LoL. Later Days

Rest and Relaxation

Hello my faithful followers. I hope this past week has been good to you. Then again I hope every week this year has been good to you. Roo and I continue to live our daily lives as best we can. Making those hard choices that all parents and grown-ups have to make. You know what bills to pay what calls to ignore. So far we are making through. Mini has been doing really well, she once again made A honor roll not just for the six weeks but also for the first semester. She is really a smart little girl. The newest little one has also been making some progress, well or not getting worse (which is always good) This weekend I have enjoyed the forced (yes forced) rest and relaxation. Mini pointed out the other day that we have just about 4 weeks to go. And of course this weekend I have been on bed rest due to too much walking is what we assume. Even though I go stir crazy I do like being pampered and taken care of by my Roo. Besides the boredom I am able to take care of this cold that I have been fighting for a week so that has been another good reason for the rest. Oh and I've got my ankles back. (Yep my feet are not as swollen as they were) So all in all this has been an ok weekend. I know that she will be here soon but hopefully she will wait until after Feb 11th. I would really like her here on Valentines or somewhere close, I just hope we make it. So far everything else is doing good. Well that's about it. It's time for my medicine and off to sleep. I'll catch you on the flip.

Some Good News about Baby

Hello to all my faithful readers. First off I want to continue to thank each and everyone of you for you continued support and prayers. You have traveled along this hard path with us and I do appericate you even if I don't know your names. Second I will continue to encourage you to follow my little family as we go through the ups and downs of life. Knowing that there are others out there who either just read or who are facing the same things makes me feel better. So again I thank you. And now ladies and gentlemen the moment we have all been waiting for.....
A color change. haha. I'm just playing. This week like most weeks here lately ended with doctors visits. Instead of the regular check up (I do that next week) we started off on Thursday with another sonogram. I will be posting some of those pictures really soon. She is getting so big....Really she is already measuring in at 5lb 11oz. The funny thing about that is that I am only just now suspose to be 33 weeks along. Hmmm, some one got that wrong. (just saying) Lucky for my I accepted the fact that I would never actually see my original due date of March 3rd pregnant. I know in my heart and body that she will be making her arrival into the world in February. After hearing her measurement my mom and I actually froze just a bit, mom then asked if it could be water weight since we have been having the issues with the kidneys. The Doctor missed understood and looked at me "Have you gained more weight?"
"No, I've actually lost a little" (side note this is not unusual to me as I had lost 12 pounds during pregnancy with Mini) The Doctor still looked perplexed so mom explained what she meant. The doctor told us no that there may be some offness in the measurement water retention does not affect babies. (If you are a pediatrician please hit me up and let me know if this is true.) After that we got the good news that the kidneys were once again stable. Even though the ureters are still enlarged the kidneys seem to have stablized. Then they pointed out that the growth from the previous week could have been from the growth of baby, since they didn't take measurements. I have to say the first sigh of relief was there.  Some of the worry and stress that I have been feeling started to melt away with that news. No it may not be all puppies and sunshine but no change is a good sign. Then it was onto today. Roo and I went to the Pediatric Urologist who spealizes in this type of thing. First off we like this guy. He was very honest and explained what was going on. Even though I have to say I dreaded it and the idea that it may take up to 4hrs of my day did not put me in the "Let's go to the Doctor" mood this one actually helped in making feel better about what was going on. So let's get to it. 10 years ago when a baby was born with this type of issue they would immediately take him/her into surgery to correct it. However, medical technology being what it is today (thank you to all the medical scientists) only 1% of babies who are born actually need this procedure done at time of birth. Today we learned that surgery is a worst case scenaro. Even though this has been what we have been the time that should would for sure need surgery. But the doctor assured us that this may not be the case. The problem he is seeing is that either it is reflux or there is a blockage both can be fixed by surgery which is no longer done right away but we would get to wait for a few weeks if it has to be done at all. Some babies are able to basically out grow this problem. He said that as far as having to have her early that it is not needed since she does need to continue to develope and that as long as the fluid around her continues to stay at the level that it is and does not decrease then there is no sudden cause for great alarm. When I told him that the Sonogram have been scaring me becasue of all this stuff he smiled and answered "Thats their job. Their job is to inform you and worry you. My job is to explain it, help you understand and make you feel better. So do you feel better?" I have to say it was kind of like when the Orical gave Neo the cookie after just giving him bad news. You can't change it but it does make you feel better. (Yes I used movie reference) After that he told us that we can give birth at any facitily and to call when we are on our way to hospital and he will be there. Because he has privilages every where, cause he's a specialty. It made us laugh. Needless to say that though I will continue to worry I'm feeling so much better about what is going on. I understand better the options and am comfortable that she will be taken care of and again I say thank you all for you continued prayers. We are truly blessed.
Well that about sums it up folks. Again stay tuned for more news because I am sure there will be more. Later Days

Saving the World

Hello again my faithful readers, it is I the great wizard of...Hmmm sctach that, it's just me and it's Saturday in the great world of me and time to reflect on the 1st week of the new year. So this week has been full of some emotional ups and downs. Up, Mini went back to school. Down new baby needs ekg and kidney has grown. But that was the majors of the week and I am determind to make this year postive so I'm not dwelling on it. Instead I am going to fixate on other issues and try to take over  save the world. Let's start with something that is annoying...Bills
Yes folks we all have them. And most of us adults even actually pay them and yet sometimes we get those annoying phone calls where the person on the other end is positive that you are stupid. So here is where I suggest you begin doing your home work. Fact, any creditor that calls must state who they are calling with, they are not allowed to discuss your personal information with anyone other than you. Fact, you are able to request that information be sent in writing to you showing that you infact owe that debt. Now let's not make an idiot out of the system by refusing everyone, if you know for certain that you owe it, admit your screw up and pay. If on the other hand the company is responsible for shady dealings then you need to turn them in. To many people allow this bullies (yes I said bullies) to contact them and their loved ones and make casual threats or innuedos that are actually legal. So again I point out do you homework. This year I challange everyone to become more aware of their rights as consumers so that they are able to fight back against the evil doers and jerks also know as collection agencies. Whats funny about this is it recently happened to me. I recieved a call from a guy who refused to tell me what company he represents but then wanted to know personal information on Roo. Then he proceeds to tell me that I needed to contact the client (who he still did not tell me) and that he would continue to contact all known associates. (What am I in the mafia?) Again do your homework so you know what to do in this situation. After a day of digging Roo and I decided that best thing to do was to turn them in to the FTC. Now I'm not saying every business needs to be reported but i am saying that when one does you be aware that there are those out there looking to protect us.
Next on the list is to sit down and go over your bills and make a chart or bill pay plan. Roo and I normally have to rework this plan half through the month of Jan. so that we can get everything back in order but it does help to budget your money a little bit better. Of course it does help when one of you shops when they are feeling down. I know what your thinking but I really needed those clothes and books and shoes (they matched the jeans) and ice cream and movie and.....well you get the point. Everyone has their vice, mine is shopping. I've gotten better over the years I can control myself a little better but it still takes some time.  Right now it's curbed due to the fact that I don't go many places by myself any more. If I have supervision then I'm covered and don't feel the need to spend money that I know I really don't have.
Well those are the first two bill paying tips to saving the world. Next time we will discuss calm breathing and relaxtion. Later days

News on the newest little one

"All things are possible through prayer" I'm not really sure who to quote exactly but I think that is gist of it. Today was a pretty good day well this week has been a week of much needed rest. First the Mini went back to school When I went to take her up on Tuesday she told me she didn't want to go becasue she was tired. "That is why I told you to go to bed early last night, so we could get back into our routine" to which she sweetly answered "But this is our routine, you wake me up and I tell you I'm sleepy." lol. It's hard to argue with that logic.
Then of course there was the regular Dr. appointment to check on the new baby. Her heart beat is strong and she is growing, I've lost a little weight but that is ok. We still have a floating due date in Feb but we will be able to know more soon. And today was the day for the sono. Mom went with me which was good. I always like when she gets to go with me. Roo couldn't make it this time since he wants to go to next weeks appointment with the Ped. U. The left side of kidneys is stable (good) though still dilated, her right side has grown just a bit. But I am now going to have sono's every week. (Meh, it's what needs to be) Then we went to see about our trip for next year. So the day was going pretty good. Then I get a call and of course there is a little confusion. I have two doctors that sound the same on the phone. And this one is asking about an Echo on new babies heart. She was asking if we had one with them or did we have one outside of the facility. After the confusion I realized that it was the sono doctor. Because of the diabetes they wanted to make sure that her heart was good. And then she asked we hadn't had one at this point. "Because we were told that so long as the kidneys stablized then it wasn't needed." So now I'm worried over a whole new issue. I know in my heart that she will be fine but I still can't help but worry. So to all my readers I ask that you contiue to keep my sweet little one in your prayers as we continue to learn what we can.
